We’re in the trenches on rocky foundations!
It was with great excitement and relief that construction returned on the 16th of January👷🏻♂️👷🏻♀️. The concrete slabs have been cut to provide drainage for the clinic room sinks but as with building, not all things are simple. The foundation supporting the slab seems to have eroded away, leaving the builders, engineers and the hydraulics teams scratching their heads to find a solution.
The challenge took time, but the team has since formulated a solution and rectification has started. Fingers crossed this is the last of the surprises 🤞🏻
To help make space for the group exercise room and staff room a large brick wall was demolished. Hard to picture now, I know but this facility will look amazing once finished.
Below is the design of the facility. As you can see there is a large gym space, 10 clinical rooms, meeting room, group exercise classroom and a cafe.
On my next update I will provide more details on the vision and pillars we will base our strategic focus on.
The Gateway Life team will continue our recruitment drive with several key positions yet to be recruited. We will soon be advertising for the Customer Experience and Admin Team Leader, this role will oversee the administration functions, gym sales and will grow several team members to help support Gateway Life operations.

Currently, the superstar 🦸♂️🦸♀️🦹♀️🦹♂️ ⭐ allied health team include Nina (OT), Besh (Physio), Sam (Exercise Physiologist), and Monique (Dietitian). The team have availability for new referrals to complete clinic-based appointments in the Wollongong Hub or home visits in the Wollongong/ Shoalhaven area whilst we wait for Gateway Life to open.
